A vaporizer is actually just a type of humidifier. It accomplishes the same thing that a humidifier does; it just does so in a different way.

A humidifier and a vaporizer both do the same thing; add humidity into the air. How they do it though, is different. Both a humidifier and a vaporizer have pros and cons, and choosing which one is right for your home depends on your needs and concerns.
